Rio Abajo Rio is inspired by the book Women who Run with the Wolves, a collection of short stories, intercultural myths, and folktales about the divine feminine. The saying, “rio abajo rio” translates to, “river beneath the river'' which, in this case, refers to the woman within the woman.
This striking artwork conveys our deeper self that is realized through meditation, dance, writing, painting, praying, singing, or any activity which requires an intense altered consciousness.
